Berserkers and Ulfhednar were two different groups of Viking warriors.
Berserkers wore bearskins and from my research seemed to be of a Lower class than the Ulfhednar.
Berserkers seemed to be kind of wanderers, sometime criminal types and bar room brawlers
But most warriors damn well did not want to take them on in battle.
They like the Ulfhednar were shock troops, made like today’s special forces.
From them comes the term berserk.
Berserkers is also used by some to explain the way the Ulfhednar went into battle.
Both Berserkers and Ulfhednar were known for their uncontrollable fury in battle.
Both were said to not feel pain and be very hard to stop in battle.
Ulfhednar were warriors who wore wolf skins, had the ferocity of wolves in battle.
Ulfhednar seemed to have been made up of a Shaman class of warriors.
This is hard for some to understand, a warrior who wanted to become an Ulfhednar he went into the forrest necked, no weapons, no tools, no food.
He stayed in the forrest while he became the wolf.
He did not become a warrior who thought like the wolf, he became the wolf.
He took on the spirit of a wolf.

Shape shifting had different aspects but at times, what one would see instead of the warrior, was a tall walking on two legs ferocious wolf.
I believe this is where tales of werewolves come from.
The Roman Christians have been indoctrinated with the one life then heaven or hell for eternity fairytale.
But most of the world’s people understand and practice reincarnation.
Not all who became Ulfhednar have retained the spirt of the wolf in them, but many have.
I believe some of America’s generals were Ulfhednar.
At least the one’s who embraced reincarnation as George Washington and George Patton did.
An Ulfhednar in a fight, once entered into battle seems to forget the danger, become a snarling snapping ole curly wolf.
Now as to the Fall Festal.
The signs, symbols used around the world are ancient.
They are repurposed by different peoples at different times and the unenlightened will attach to them the meaning of what they saw them associated with.
Take the Crusader’s Cross.

The Maltese cross has long be associated with a symbol representing the Creator God.
The four smaller crosses in. each corner represented the four seasons.
This was a symbol in which humans recognized the gift of life given humans by the Creator God.
Each of the four seasons had a festival which gave thanks to God for sustaining humans in life.
Spring was celebrated as a time of new life, when the snows had melted, the plants grew again, flowers bloomed and spring planting of fields was done.
Summer was celebrated as it was a time to toil, to grow, a time of warmth and some play when one had the time.
Fall was celebrated as it was the time when crops were harvested, stored so there would be food to eat during the cold winter months.
The Winter Solstice was celebrated as the next day, days would grow longer each day until the Spring Equinox, which started the cycle all over again.
We are reaching the time of the Fall Festival and it should be celebrated.
In some cultures in olden times folks would dress up as scary beings because all hallows eve is believed to be the time the vail between the living and the dead is the thinnest, and dressing up scary was a way to keep the dead spirits which might wander around from bothering the living.
The “Trick or Treat thing came out of these traditions.
Some folks get all hot and bothered by other dressing up pretending to be something one is not.
Bible Thumpers rail against Halloween without even understanding what it really is.
But these same Bibile Thumpers will drool all over themselves when soul-less child raping thieving politicians dress as humans and tell them lies to get their votes.

We also have an election coming up.
To me that is a hell of a lot more scary and dangerous to humans than some kid dressing up as a werewolf a ghost, a goblin or such and asking for some Tootsie Rolls or candy corn sweets.
The money spent giving free candy to kids one night a year is a tiny compared to the cost of having politicians around all year long!
