The Beast shows a heart with an exterior as hard as the hardest stone-
With flashing eyes which can chill and cut to the bone-
Tis but a show, a prop to play the part-
Yet his growl and snarls can quake fear into the brave and start-
A trembling under the skin which moves up and down the spine-
And has caused many to loosen their bowls and soil their behind-
The Beast is complicated, never what is seen or expected as a whole-
He is an illusion really, the slight of hand, confusion of the soul his goal-
At times when no one is observing him, his heart can be so very tender-
Kindnesses done incognito, lending strength to the weak, a lender-
Of warmth for the cold, the sun’s kiss for the sad, a lifting hand to those who sag-
With the troubles of the world, hearts breaking at loss, minds driven quite mad-
But in war the Beast roars while slashing left and right-
An Ulfhednar’s heart of rage, a fear in the night-
A kindness done, a head lopped off, a roar, a growl, soft words to sooth a frightened child-
A Terror striking fear in the soul of the brave, whispered words gentle and mild-
The Beast has always been a mystery to the sheep of the world, the earthly scholar and scribe-
No one is allowed to see the tenderness, the sadness, the aloneness of his heart’s inside-
He plays his part he has been tasked to do with the human herd-
He answers to no one at all except to his master’s word-
The Creator God holds his leash until he is needed to do his master’s will on earth-
He himself is a master of parts, fear, love, kindness, death, sadness and mirth-
All in a days work, all part of the multidimensional soul of a divine predator-
Doing kindness on the way to gather the souls of the wicked, a divine creditor-
Doing kindness to the poor, comfort to the broken hearted, a helping hand to the weak-
But a devouring Beast of prey for the evil, unmoved by their begging, cry or dying shrike-
Complications above the understanding of mere man-
A tool of the gods to enforce the rules and to clean up a land!
