The Unpopular Truth From Thomas Paine

“A thousand years hence (for I must indulge in a few thoughts), perhaps in less, America may be what England now is! The innocence of her character that won the hearts of all nations in her favor may sound like a romance, and her inimitable virtue as if it had never been. The ruins of that liberty which thousands bled for, or suffered to obtain, may just furnish materials for a village tale or extort a sigh from rustic sensibility, while the fashionable of that day, enveloped in dissipation, shall deride the principle and deny the fact.”
Thomas Paine, Jan. 1789

Sadly, It did not take a thousand years.
America is the evil shit hole England was.
England is a worse shit hole than it was then.

A truth teller is a hero to folks as long as he is telling the truth about a people, place or faction the public is against.
But when they start telling the truth about the public, the public’s favored politicians or the public’s “government”, then they are called crazy, nuts, evil, or even a treasonous person.

If the sheep had loved the truth, Jesus would not have found himself spiked to a tree trunk!

If Americans had loved the truth, when he died in 1809 Paine would have received a hero patriot’s State Burial rather being buried under an oak tree in a ceremony in which only nine people attended.

The American people’s romance with freedom and honor was a brief fling after which the maiden of liberty and freedom was abandoned while the American people did debauchery with a continuing line of new whores, each more evil and oppressive than the last.

When the history of the UNITED STATES is viewed a thousand years from now, Rome will look like a saintly time compared to the oppression, the corruption, the mass murders through evil wars, the outright love and servitude to the Dark side of a people who had a chance to advance humanity’s lot but lacked the honor, the goodness of soul to stay the course in the pilgrimage of spiritual growth.

The history of the Americas has often been narrated as the story of justice and progress. Yet, the history has been replete with mass extinctions (and sometimes exterminations), extensive slave trade, greed & corruption, imperialism, and endless war-making. (The power trajectory of American History can be summarized in terms of Anglo-Americans detaching the US from the Anglo-British Empire and the Judeo-Americans attaching the US to the Judeo-Zionist Empire.) How did Christians square the real history of the Americas with their professed turn-the-other-cheek and love-thy-enemies precepts? Because the history was awesome. There was so much gold to be had in the mines of South America, so much wealth to be generated in North America, and so much power to be built up to dominate the world. When the USA-USA-USA red-blooded Christian types bleat about America being the ‘greatest country in the world’, they don’t mean goodness or kindness but lots of wealth and lots of power to beat up other countries, such as Venezuela.
